Education

Past: B.S. Immunology and Infectious Disease, The Pennsylvania State University Current: M.P.H. Tropical Medicine, Tulane University School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine

Experience

I am very competent in all high school level subjects. In high school I took many AP classes, including AP Biology (3), AP Chemistry (3), AP US History (3), AP English Literature (3), and AP Calculus A/B (5). My best combined SAT score was 1910/2400. Most of my expertise lies in biological and life science subjects. I have taken MANY such classes all throughout my undergraduate career, and will continue to do so throughout my Masters curriculum at Tulane. However, I am also very confident in my high school algebra and calculus skills and would love to tutor those subjects as well. I would love to tutor high school and/or undergraduate students in order to aid understanding of subject matter and, perhaps more importantly, inspire a passion for the sciences and higher education in these young adults.

Hobbies

Throughout high school and college, I participated in many activities, allowing myself to engage and relate to almost anyone. In high school, I was very involved with athletics and music in addition to rigorous academics. I was a starting midfielder for our varsity girls soccer team and a middle distance runner for our track and field team. I was an accomplished athlete in both sports, participating in both district and state level competition. I also have been involved in music my whole life. I've played piano since kindergarten and trombone since 5th grade. In high school, I became a very advanced and accomplished trombonist, earning first chair in Pennsylvania's State Orchestra and earning 3rd chair in MENC's National Honors Concert Band in 2010. While at Penn State, I was a member of the Marching Blue Band and Triathlon team. I believe that participation in extracurricular activities such as athletics or music (and even both) can be extremely beneficial to students.
