(1) Loyola University New Orleans - B.A. in Languages and Cultures with concentration in both Spanish (Major) and French (Major) - Distinctions: Summa Cum Laude and Departmental Honors (2) l’Université de Lille III – Charles de Gaulle - Primary Academic Track: Lettres Modernes (French Language/Literature Studies) (3) La Universidad de Málaga - Primary Academic Track: Filología Hispánica (Spanish Language/Literature Studies)

Experience

I have near-native proficiency in both Spanish and French. Aside from knowledge of Spanish and French, I've got years of experience as an educator at some of the top schools in the New Orleans area. My goal as a teacher/tutor is to help your struggling child develop an interest in the language - and after mastery of a few fundamentals - get them speaking in full sentences in no time. With some simple review, alongside practice and real integration with the language, I have a solid track record of helping struggling students with a foreign language. If your child is willing to work and truly commit themselves, I can indeed help him/her get the grade you want in the course (assuming, of course, you come to me with sufficient time). A typical tutoring session with me is more like a discussion. I take your textbook, look over what you need to know for you class or exam, and I use a "build-on-what-you-know" approach to get you not only to simply "memorize" the material, but to get you to truly understand it so that you can easily duplicate on the quiz/test/exam. After doing some verbal and perhaps a few written exercises together, I then offer some study strategies that could be helpful to you depending on your needs. I will say, what typically happens is that the "alone-time, boring" studying is exponentially reduced as our sessions will provide you with true understanding, and eventually, mastery of the material. Hobbies

As you can imagine, I greatly enjoying traveling and learning about new cultures - (it sort of comes with the territory, right?) . It's one of the most humbling, eye-opening activities that exists. Aside from my love of travel, I love discussing and studying a wide variety of topics such as philosophy and linguistics. (Again, pretty fitting right?) As for more relaxing/less thought-provoking activities, I enjoy biking, practicing guitar, going to the (movie) theatre, Jogging, and swimming.
