Experience
I love language, and I love helping students of all ages reach their reading and writing goals. I am comfortable with test prep and AP exams, and I can help compose and edit essays in a range of subjects, no matter the level. I can also help with college application essays, creative writing projects, and more. I've taught both Composition and Creative Writing to undergraduates at the University of Michigan and Dillard University. From these experiences I've gathered some great teaching methods and materials, and I've learned how to guide students of any skill level to improve over time. As a tutor I am flexible, patient, and engaged. I listen carefully to concerns and questions, and encourage active, participatory learning. Hobbies
I moved to New Orleans about a year ago, and love it so far. I get to go jogging in City Park, read books along the bayou, and watch the world go by from my front porch. Couldn't ask for more. I spent much of my free time reading and writing. I'll read anything -- fiction, nonfiction, poetry. I'm also a writer, and am working on book of poems. Sometimes I do take a break from words, to play piano, cook a fancy breakfast, or watch bad TV.
