Education

I have a masters in mathematics from the University of New Orleans, and a bachelors in physics from Florida State University. The pandemic hit during my final semester at UNO, during which I was the instructor of record for a course in Business Statistics. I conducted lectures remotely, and held office hours over Zoom. I was a TA for algebra, trigonometry, pre-calculus, Calculus 1, Calculus 3, and one of the primary calculus tutors in the tutoring center. I also worked as a Research Assistant for a professor studying Quantum Computing.

Experience

I have spent the last 7 years tutoring in the New Orleans area. I used to work at College Track where I ran an ACT Math workshop, and founded a program called Math Mentoring which was designed to address math tutoring as a Socio-Emotional concept. I have tutored students attending Tulane, UNO, Xavier, Loyola, Ben Franklin, Lusher, Dominican, Jesuit, Brother Martin, Edna Karr, Saint Augustine, JFK, and many other local high schools.

Hobbies

These days my hobbies are mostly food, language learning, and music. Recently I have become passionate about learning a second language. I have reached B2 (intermediate) level of Spanish. I can read, write, and speak fluidly. I also love to cook. Since I have been in the city for the past 5 years I have greatly expanded my repertoire of techniques in the kitchen. When I lived in Tallahassee I was a semi-professional musician. My focus was on slide guitar. This is one of the reasons I was drawn to this city.
