—Tutored both high school and college students in New York City in Spanish before making the move to New Orleans
—Internship at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in an outreach program with Mexican immigrants. I spoke Spanish several hours a day both over the phone and in person
—Worked as a volunteer translator for The Advocates for Human Rights translating documents for asylum seekers
—Lived in Ecuador for four months, Guatemala for two months
-Tutored college students in several subjects including Spanish
-Taught high school and college students video and audio editing software, an illogical system at least as frustrating as learning a language
-Have held two camp counselor positions
I personally struggled with certain subjects in high school as I tend to learn in a different way than most students, and it wasn't until college, when I had more freedom and time to tackle subjects in my own way, that I realized I had a natural ability with language. I empathize with any student who feels confused and overwhelmed by learning Spanish, and I believe tutors can make a huge difference by not only additional exposure and practice with the language, but through new ways of thinking about the material.
HobbiesI enjoy writing, reading and watching movies in my spare time. I also love to jog, ride and work on my bike, and generally get outside.

Daniel was a great tutor. He was very well prepared and organized, and he customized his lesson plans to my training needs and provided extremely helpful exercises and advice. I came in knowing enough to hold basic conversations in Spanish, and Daniel was able to spark good conversations to practice the lessons I had been studying. I highly recommend him as a tutor.
